OTE: £55,000 - £80,000

As a field sales person you will be supported with a 4-5 week residential training induction course when you join SG World and training and development will be ongoing thereafter. Your success will be celebrated whether it be through ‘sales person of the month awards’, the various incentives we run which have included trips abroad or through our annual sales awards celebrations.

SG World’s sales commission and bonus schemes are uncapped with many sales people significantly overachieving the OTE. It is usual that year-on-year an SG World sales person’s earnings will increase through improved closing ratios, smarter activity and monthly bonuses that reflect the previous years’ performance in addition to your monthly commission. About the job

The purpose of the role is to lead SG World’s commercial, public sector and specialist field sales divisions in the UK & Ireland. Achieving targets both in new business sales and customer retention, the role will have direct reports in sales management who, in turn, will lead field based B2B sales people. Success will, in part, be achieved through creating a competitive and exciting sales environment that is underpinned by SG World’s values. Recruiting, maintaining and retaining the right people will be critical to the role as well as setting clear goals and ensuring they are achieved through ongoing coaching, training and development of the regional managers and sales teams themselves. Regular reporting and periodic planning will be essential against agreed metrics for which you will be held accountable.

Without distracting from the core activities of the sales function, the National Sales Manager will also work alongside the customer engagement, marketing and product management teams, uncovering new opportunities both in target audience and product as well as informing the decisions made in marketing campaigns and events that are designed to support sales people’s activity. Equally, as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, working alongside other department heads will be required.

The key, daily responsibilities are as follows:

  • Create a thriving and successful B2B field sales environment and achieve all new business and growth sales targets with the sales management team and field sales people across the UK&I. Regular reporting to the Board of Directors including historical, current and forecast sales performance. You will also report on behaviour and development, highlighting risks and points of escalation.
  • Recruit, train & develop, maintain and retain field sales managers. Work with the sales management team to do the same with field sales people. Also work alongside the Senior Leadership team, including the Head of Customer Engagement to achieve market focus and maximise sales opportunity. Be a point of escalation for customers, sales people and internal colleagues.
  • Plan and deliver inspirational and creative monthly sales meetings with a focus on learning and development as well as larger 2-day conferences during the year. Also plan and deliver an annual sales awards meeting, together with recognising monthly over-achievement. Ensure training and development is in line with the market place and common training needs across the sales teams at that time.
