As a field sales person you will be supported with a 4-5 week residential training induction course when you join SG World and training and development will be ongoing thereafter. Your success will be celebrated whether it be through ‘sales person of the month awards’, the various incentives we run which have included trips abroad or through our annual sales awards celebrations.

SG World’s sales commission and bonus schemes are uncapped with many sales people significantly overachieving the OTE. It is usual that year-on-year an SG World sales person’s earnings will increase through improved closing ratios, smarter activity and monthly bonuses that reflect the previous years’ performance in addition to your monthly commission. This is testament to SG World’s approach to the ongoing training and development of our people.

About the job

This new business role is sector specific and offers the sales person over 600 products and solutions that help our main audiences. Although supported by a contact centre and marketing team, the role will require prospecting, the setting of new business appointments and following up of all pipeline. In an appointment the sales person will follow SG World’s sales process which is designed to ensure we are helping our customers and prospects make a difference in their job and not simply selling them something to hit a target.

SG World’s products are unlikely to be used by a prospect already therefore you will take a consultative approach that is led by benefits to each individual prospect.

The key, daily responsibilities are as follows:

  • Carry out pre-planned, effective activity creating leads, generating and sitting appointments and following up appointments already sat. The KPI for appointments sat is 16 per week. If a sales person is ‘who you are’ not just 'what you do' that’s a good start on this journey of hard work and the rewards that come with it.

  • Support internal people with leads to ‘top up’ the appointments in your diary and ensure all paperwork and reports are completed carefully and to deadlines. You’ll be part of the SG World family where your commitment is to help others as well as yourself.
  • Embody the values of SG World at all times, bring a positive, can do attitude, be humble and willing to learn. Those who believe they are the finished article need not apply! Fantastic interpersonal skills are a must to be successful in this role.

You will report to a Regional Sales Manager who will support you in the field as well as the support you’ll receive at monthly sales meetings. You shouldn’t be afraid to ask questions and want to better yourself and your knowledge of our customers and company every day. In fact, asking questions both of those who are there to train and support you and those that will buy from you will be a big key to your success.

About You

You should be passionate, enthusiastic and determined to be the best you can be. Great interpersonal skills are a must with a genuine interest in other people. An appreciation of sales process will be very beneficial, and you must have a grounding in the science and art of B2B selling. We’d also like to see a demonstrable track record of success in a B2B field sales role(s) where you were consultatively solution selling. Anything else you have excelled in that isn’t mentioned above we want to hear about it too!
