Load safety campaign to spot check vehicles

The HSE and VOSA will be conducting spot checks on lorries over the next few weeks in the North West of England to check that loads are properly secured as part of a new campaign to reduce the number of injuries and deaths relating to poorly secured vechicle loads.

Over 1200 people a year are injured by unsafe loads on vehicles and cost businesses millions of pounds in damaged goods.  Approximately 80% of loads were found to insufficiently restrained in a similar initiative during April 2009.  For more information on the HSE's Load Safety Initiative click here.

Safe-vehicle HGV Inspection System

The Safe-vehicle HGV inspection system makes sure that your vehicles receive pre-trip safety checks, including the safety of the load and keeps a record of all checks both in the office and on the lorry. 

The use of Safe-vehicle would ensure that loads were secure and the vehicle safe to drive, therefore avoiding fines and or having the vehicle ordered off the road when spot checked.
