Reaseheath 2018 Prospectus – Brighter Pages for Brighter Futures
The Printing House (TPH), an SG World Company, were delighted to welcome Reaseheath College into their new home at SG World’s purpose built premises in Crewe to see their 2018 student prospectus roll off the press in the inaugural print run of the recently installed Sakurai B2 LED-UV 5 Colour Litho press.The press represents a significant investment for the Crewe based manufacturer, Peter Harrison of SG World, explained the advantages of this latest addition to SG World Group’s manufacturing capability.
“The press incorporates cutting edge LED-UV curing which means we can offer industry leading colour vibrancy on all substrates, even on uncoated paper. Achieving stunning colour reproduction on plastics, vinyl, waterproof paper and window static clings are all now possible. Creative designers will be able to play with striking print finishes such Drip Off Coatings, Spot UV Varnish, Soft Touch Coatings and White Ink. We believe there are only a handful of UK printers who can offer this capability to the marketplace at an affordable price point.” he said.
Reaseheath is one of the leading specialist land-based colleges in the UK offering specialist courses in Animal Management, Agriculture, Food, Horticulture, Sport, Engineering and more. Their Deputy Head of Marketing, Liz Green and Graphic Designer, Keith Swift, visited the factory floor to understand just how vibrant the prospectus will look on this next generation of press.
“The printed prospectus is instrumental in communicating the wealth of facilities, resources and passion we have to offer prospective students so we need Reaseheath to jump off the page. We wanted the “earthy, retro” feel of an uncoated finish to showcase the 330 hectares of Reaseheath farms, lake, park and woodlands and bring together both the contemporary and traditional elements of the college. The Printing House were able to deliver this finish with an exceptional colour intensity and pin-sharp print quality”.
SG World acquired The Printing House last year and is in the final stages of a phased plan to bring both companies manufacturing capabilities under one roof at SG World’s 55,000 sq.ft premises. The B2 Press arrived on site in February, Mark Haase, SG World CEO, commented how well this logistically challenging move was planned and executed. “Both teams have worked really well together reflecting our shared values and a perfect business fit. It’s incredibly satisfying to see the first job roll off the press and supports our corporate vision to continually innovate and grow”.
Liz Green commented, “We have enjoyed a longstanding relationship with TPH because we’ve always felt well looked after so we welcomed the opportunity to come and meet the wider SG World group and see that same strong commitment to customer service.”
SG World’s documentation and software solutions help schools build regulatory best practice into key areas such as visitor management, pupil safeguarding, staff ID and inventory management. The Printing House acquisition is a natural extension of SG World’s behind-the-scenes school solutions, bringing branded marketing materials, stationery, clothing and large format signage into the portfolio.
