Don't Leave Garage Safety To Chance

Protect your mechanics and ensure total PUWER and LOLER compliance with the SG World fixed vehicle lift inspection pad. Available now.

The Danger of Fixed Vehicle Lifts

Working under vehicles is a high-risk job. The HSE reports 1.62 deaths per 100,000 workers in motor vehicle repair. That is four times higher than the UK industry average.

Most fatal accidents happen when vehicles are not supported correctly. Equipment failure, damaged pads, or broken locks cause serious accidents. Daily checks are a legal requirement under PUWER, and they keep your staff safe.

Instant Visual Safety Status

A paper checklist in a filing cabinet does not stop someone from using a faulty lift. Our inspection pad works with the standard SG World Pass/Fail yellow visual paddle system.

When the daily check is done, the status goes straight into the inspecton paddle which is attached to the lift. A green 'Pass' shows it is safe to use. A highly visible 'Fail' acts as a clear warning to the entire workshop that the lift has failed its inspection and must not be used.

Catch Faults Before They Cause Accidents

Before Operating

Confirm the operator is trained, the LOLER examination is in date, and the load capacity is clearly displayed.

Condition & Anchors

Check the safety locks are completely undamaged and the concrete base and anchor bolts are secure.

Hydraulic System

Look over the lift for hydraulic fluid leaks and inspect all hoses and cylinders for cracks or bulges.

Controls & Electrical

Make sure the controls function correctly and test that the Emergency Stop button works straight away.

Lift Test (No Vehicle)

Run the lift empty to ensure it raises and lowers smoothly with no unusual noises during operation.

Before Lifting a Vehicle

Verify the correct lifting points are used, pads are positioned right, and safety locks engage before working underneath.
