Bulldozers can save an incredible amount of time and manhours on a construction site. however, like all machines and plant, bulldozers do require regular inspections and upkeep to stay in good working order. The bulldozer inspection pad helps businesses perform their pre-use or daily safety inspections. The pre-use checklist is designed to help you comply with your duty of care under PUWER. The duplicate checklist design creates two signed copies of each inspection and incorporates a PASS/FAIL notice. Each pad has 30 checklists and is used in tandem with a hi-vis display wallet 

Our checklists are suitable for use with any standard dozer including John Deere, Caterpillar and Shantui.

How to use

Before every shift, the operator of the bulldozer can simply work down the inspection checklist, checking the safety of each component in turn. Once the pre-use inspection is complete, assuming safety has been established, the green PASS inspection certificate can be placed inside a safety status indicator on the truck ensuring that everyone can clearly see that the dozer is safe for use. Failing bulldozers can be similarly identified by a red FAIL certificate and reported for maintenance. The duplicate copy of the certificate remains inside the inspection pad and can be used as evidence of inspections should you ever need to produce this for the HSE or other official parties.

What are the key areas to look at during bulldozer daily check?

The following are the main key points to cover in your daily or pre-use inspection check:
ENGINE

• The water level in radiator and reserve tank
• Oil level and condition.
• Oil, water and fuel leakage.
• Fan belt tension

HYDRAULIC SYSTEM

• Hydraulic level in the reservoir.
• Operation of a control lever of valves for a different sequence of operation of the boom and bucket of bulldozer vehicle.
• Hydraulic leaks on boom and bucket cylinders

ELECTRICAL /ELECTRONICS/SAFETY DEVICE

• Check different gauges in the operators for proper operation.
• Reversing alarm /Movement Alarm
• Side mirrors
• Amber flashing beacon
• Signal/blinker light

UNDERCARRIAGE / TRACK SHOE, ETC.

• Track condition
• Sight blockage in the operator cabin (Curtain, Cartoon, etc.
• Check control lever /joystick for proper operation
